Current Thought: Nov 26, 2020

The cranberry relish is made, the turkey is in the oven, the dressing is almost ready to be cooked. And the pies are all made. What more can anyone ask for? Only one thing … for peace and love to abound. So, on Thanksgiving, Cindy would like to be serious for a minute, and to #GiveThanks for those two virtues. Here's hoping they will increase in our homes, our countries, and on our planet.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Past Thoughts

Nov, 2020

11/25/20  It's raining, and as long as it doesn't last more than an hour, Cindy will happily #GiveThanks -- during this season of Thanksgiving -- for the rain that waters the flowers & trees, that fills reservoirs and gives the life sustaining moisture that's needed.

Wow, that was one long sentence that she just wrote, wasn't it? But, you get her drift. Where would mankind be without water?

Dehydrated, that's where.

Yes, sometimes she really does amuse herself, and if you didn't find that "dehydrated" line amusing, please don't tell her so.

11/24/20  Today Cindy dekcided ... decidded .... Aaacckk! Today Cindy decided it would be a good day for her to take a typing class!

But, barring that she'd like to #givethanks for one of her favorite flowers -- pansies! Their fragrance is light, sweet, making her want to inhale their scent deeply. Their faces are colorful and round, making her smile. After enduring the cold nighttime temperatures they dance in the sun, greeting the morning, and the sight fills her soul with gratitude.

After pondering those facts, she's decided that pansies are not such "pansies" at all.

11/23/20 Cindy just wants to grab a minute & say... she's so thankful for the Hubster! For his love, sense of humor, kindness to others, & sense of humor. Yes, she said "sense of humor" twice because one of the reasons she married him is because of his ability to make light of things.

He's the only person she knows that would laugh when she fell in the birdbath the other day. (Never fear, he did go over and check to be sure she was all right.)

How about y'all? Do you have someone (spouse, significant other, friend, parent, etc.) that you #GiveThanks for?

11/21/20 With Thanksgiving less than a week away, it seems like the right time for Cindy to post a few grateful thoughts and to #givethanks.

Today she's grateful for food. She's one who loves food ... ooo, bacon, yum!

Oh drat. Where was she? Oh yes, an attitude of gratitude for food ... Cindy is always very appreciative of having good food on the table. And in the fridge, cupboards, pantry, and on the stove.

Just not in the bed.

Jul 2015

At the moment, Cindy's brain is on holiday. Sometimes it goes on holiday for no reason at all, despite the fact that Cindy's body is at work, writing. With a little luck, her brain will return in no time at all, with a thought or two that's worth reading.
But, she makes no guarantees.

Feb 2012

My brain is totally devoid of thoughts at the moment. What do you think ... is it because of pollution in the air ... radioactive elements bombarding my brain ... acid rain?  No, it's probably something more insidious. Like the big breakfast I had of bacon, potatoes, eggs, toast, donut, apple juice and milk.

Oh, okay, I'll tell the truth. I only had the bacon, potatoes and apple juice. But ... if there'd been donuts around, I definitely would've had that, too.

Aaah yes. Donuts. The breakfast of champions! (Or maybe the Destroyer of Brain Cells.)

December 2011
Christmas is almost here. In two weeks it will be Christmas Eve. Wowzers, how'd that happen? At any rate, it's time for a Christmas story, and to whet your taste buds ... er ... reading buds, here are the first two paragraphs of a story that I know you'll enjoy!

Officer Mack Olson jerked the steering wheel hard, barely avoiding a slide onto the graveled shoulder. The icy December air whistled in his ears, but he couldn't do anything about it.

"Attending my own funeral isn't my idea of a good Christmas," he muttered, resisting the urge to take one hand off the wheel to roll up the window. "It's a shame this joker blew the red light before I had a chance to grab my double-bacon-cheeseburger from the kid at the drive-up window."  The stolen Dodge Intrepid in front of him careened onto Bangerter Highway, narrowly missing a semi-truck in the right lane. "Idiot!" Mack accelerated and tried to catch up, his foot pushing hard on the gas as the Intrepid swung in front of an SUV. Then a hand flashed out the window of the stolen car...

Summer 2011
There's something about the actress, Emma Watson, that I really like. She started acting so young, and is very gifted. In fact, I have to say that of all the
Harry Potter movie characters, Hermione, is my favorite. Watson plays her exactly right, and with any other actress, the character would probably come across as insufferable.

If you happen to be an Emma Watson fan and haven't heard the latest news, Watson will be starring in
The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Watson was seen in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where production has started for the movie. She's sporting a short haircut reminiscent of the 60s, and there are some dynamite candid photos from on-set. (Tidbit: Flowing, mauve skirt.)

April 2011
Oh my gosh, I can't believe how long it's been since I left a thought here. Time flies like an arrow ... and fruit flies like a banana!

So, as penance for not being on the ball, here's a link for a short haiku poem that will warm the cockles of your heart:
